And the winner is...Carrier's AquaSnap Puron!
Carrier's AquaSnap Puron air conditioner has won
2005 H&V News Air Conditioning Product of the Year Award.
The judges acknowledged AquaSnap Puron as "a step forward in air
conditioning design." The incorporation of direct expansion free cooling
into the package was described as "pioneering" - as might be expected of
the industry's leading innovators. The judges also praised the inventive
use of thermosyphon technology within a standard product. Thermosyphon
technology is a free cooling option, which takes advantage of the natural
migration of the refrigerant in the coldest point of the chiller, which
are the coils during winter.
The heart of the AquaSnap concept is the integration of the hydronic
module, without a size penalty. Within its compact footprint all
pumps,
valves, expansion vessels and other hydronic accessories are
factory-integrated into the design.
New compressor technology enables the Carrier AquaSnap Puron to use the
energy-efficient, non-ozone depleting refrigerant R410A, over the
190-760kW ranges.
The H&V News, a
weekly HVAC journal, is the UK's largest circulation HVAC trade magazine.
The publication's awards are the most prestigious in the industry. At the
awards dinner, Carrier's guests saw the trophy lifted by U.K. Carrier
Commercial Director Richard Jones
